Suta (narrating an instruction given within the Deva-context toward surrender to Shiva)
It establishes that Shiva is approached first through anjali and śaraṇāgati (refuge), implying that outer worship of the Linga must be supported by inner humility and surrender for true darśana.
Shiva is Devesha (Pati), not easily grasped by an unrefined mind; His presence is revealed through grace when the pashu (soul) becomes purified and turns away from pasha (bondage).
Anjali with prapatti (taking refuge) functions as a Pāśupata-aligned discipline: purifying the inner instrument (antaḥkaraṇa-śuddhi) so the seeker becomes fit for Shiva-darśana.
