Suta (narrating an internal assurance given to Parvati by a revered figure in the episode)
It emphasizes certainty (niścaya) in the Lord’s grace: steadfast devotion and tapas culminate in union with Pati (Śiva), the inner meaning behind Linga-upāsanā as surrender to the Supreme.
Shiva-tattva is implied as Pati—certain, unwavering, and destined as the supreme protector-lord; the assurance removes saṃdeha (doubt), a key obstacle for the pashu bound by pāśa.
The verse supports tapas and focused contemplation: repeated, reverent attention (muhuḥ samprekṣya) reflects disciplined bhakti-yoga aligned with Pāśupata intent—removing doubt and fixing the mind on the goal.
