Lord Vishnu (narrating to Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Viṣṇu empowers Brahmā and Rudra for cosmic functions; after souls attain their due and traverse even exalted divine stations, the Lord alone grants complete liberation.
Vedantic Theme: Brahmā/Rudra as functional powers under Īśvara; mokṣa transcends loka-attainment and repeated experiences; final release depends on divine grace and right fitness (yogyatā).
Application: Do not mistake high attainments for final freedom; orient practice toward liberation (viveka, vairāgya, bhakti) and seek the Lord’s anugraha.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: celestial realms
Related Themes: Garuda Purana: mokṣa as highest goal beyond svarga; repeated births and loka-attainments are not final
The verse presents Brahmā as the divinely impelled agent of creation and Rudra as the divinely impelled agent of dissolution, showing cosmic functions operate under the Supreme’s governance.
It indicates that after experiencing and “seeing” higher divine realms and deities according to one’s merit, the truly worthy are finally granted complete liberation—moksha—beyond repeated experience of worlds.
Treat spiritual practice as aiming beyond status or heavenly attainments; cultivate devotion, right conduct, and discrimination so that one seeks liberation rather than endlessly repeating worldly or even celestial rewards.
