Brahmā’s Curse, Four Births, and the Dharma of Shared Embodiment

Draupadī/Kṛṣṇā

FAQs

This verse stresses its grave moral-spiritual weight, stating it is not easily neutralized even by many remedial measures, urging strict adherence to dharma and respect toward Brahmins.

By warning that certain actions—incurring brahmaśāpa and keeping degrading company—rapidly generate adverse karma (vipatti), which in Garuda Purana’s framework can manifest as suffering, obstacles, and negative post-death outcomes.

Avoid harmful influences and unethical circles, cultivate sattvic company, and act with restraint and respect—especially toward spiritual elders and dharmic institutions—to reduce self-created misfortune.
