वृत्तिरूपं परं ज्ञानं पाद्यार्घ्यं नात्र संशयः / इन्द्रियाणामुपरतिः सुप्तिरित्युच्यते बुधैः

vṛttirūpaṃ paraṃ jñānaṃ pādyārghyaṃ nātra saṃśayaḥ / indriyāṇāmuparatiḥ suptirityucyate budhaiḥ

O conhecimento supremo é da natureza de vṛtti, a modificação da mente; isso mesmo é o verdadeiro pādya (água para os pés) e o arghya—sem dúvida. A cessação dos sentidos é o que os sábios chamam de “sono”.
