नाम पञ्चदशोत्तरशततमो ऽध्यायः ब्रह्मोवाच / व्रतानि व्यास वक्ष्यामि हरिर्यैः सर्वदो भवेत् / सर्वमासर्क्षतिथिषु वारेषु हरिरर्चितः

nāma pañcadaśottaraśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ brahmovāca / vratāni vyāsa vakṣyāmi hariryaiḥ sarvado bhavet / sarvamāsarkṣatithiṣu vāreṣu harirarcitaḥ

Assim se denomina o Capítulo 116. Brahmā disse: «Ó Vyāsa, descreverei os votos sagrados (vrata) pelos quais Hari (Viṣṇu) se torna o doador de todas as graças. Em cada mês—nos nakṣatra, tithi e dias da semana auspiciosos—Hari deve ser adorado».
