Continuation and Future of the Sūrya-vaṁśa: From Kuśa to the Last Ikṣvāku King
Bhagavatam 9.12.8 states that King Bṛhadbala, descended from Takṣaka, was slain in battle by Parīkṣit’s father (Abhimanyu).
While narrating the Solar dynasty after Lord Rāma, Śukadeva connects the lineage to Parīkṣit by noting that Parīkṣit’s father, Abhimanyu, killed Bṛhadbala in the Kurukṣetra-era warfare.
It helps devotees see how time, karma, and duty shape human history, encouraging humility and steadiness in dharma while keeping devotion to Bhagavān as the real shelter.
