Brahmā Counsels the Demigods; Journey to Kailāsa; Śiva’s Tranquility and Brahmā’s Praise
विद्यातपोयोगपथमास्थितं तमधीश्वरम् । चरन्तं विश्वसुहृदं वात्सल्याल्लोकमङ्गलम् ॥ ३५ ॥
vidyā-tapo-yoga-patham āsthitaṁ tam adhīśvaram carantaṁ viśva-suhṛdaṁ vātsalyāl loka-maṅgalam
Os semideuses viram Śiva firmemente estabelecido no caminho do conhecimento, da austeridade, da ação e do yoga rumo à perfeição, como senhor dos sentidos. Ele era amigo do universo inteiro e, por seu afeto a todos, sumamente auspicioso.
Lord Śiva is full of wisdom and tapasya, austerity. One who knows the modes of work is understood to be situated on the path of devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One cannot serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead unless one has achieved full perfectional knowledge in the ways and means of performing devotional service.
This verse describes him as viśva-suhṛt—one who moves through the worlds for the benefit of all, acting out of compassionate affection for universal welfare.
In the Dakṣa–Sati narrative, Nārada’s role and character are clarified: he is established in knowledge, austerity, and yoga, and his actions are meant for loka-maṅgala—the good of all beings.
Cultivate knowledge, disciplined practice, and inner focus, then use them compassionately—choosing words and actions that uplift others rather than increase conflict.
