Lord Śiva Instructs the Pracetās (Śiva-stuti and the Path of Bhakti)

क्रियाकलापैरिदमेव योगिन: श्रद्धान्विता: साधु यजन्ति सिद्धये । भूतेन्द्रियान्त:करणोपलक्षितं वेदे च तन्त्रे च त एव कोविदा: ॥ ६२ ॥

kriyā-kalāpair idam eva yoginaḥ śraddhānvitāḥ sādhu yajanti siddhaye bhūtendriyāntaḥ-karaṇopalakṣitaṁ vede ca tantre ca ta eva kovidāḥ

Ó Senhor, Tua forma universal é composta pelos cinco elementos, pelos sentidos, pela mente, pela inteligência, pelo ego material e pelo Paramātmā — Tua expansão parcial que dirige tudo. Os yogīs não devotos, como o karma-yogī e o jñāna-yogī, também Te adoram por meio de suas ações, com fé, buscando a perfeição. Os Vedas e os śāstras que os seguem proclamam por toda parte que somente Tu és digno de adoração; essa é a conclusão perita de todos os Vedas.

In a previous verse Lord Śiva wanted to see the form of the Lord which the devotees are always interested in. There are other forms of the Lord manifest in the material world, including Brahmā and other demigods, and these are worshiped by materialistic persons. In the Second Canto, Third Chapter, of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, it is stated that those who desire material benefits are recommended to worship different types of demigods, and in conclusion the Bhāgavatam recommends:
