Maitreya (addressing Sage Parāśara’s teaching about the Supreme Lord as the cosmic cause)
The verse states that not only beings but also their classifications (jāti), embodied forms (rūpa), and innate dispositions (svabhāva) arise under Vishnu’s creative sovereignty—implying a divinely grounded cosmic order.
It presents a cyclical model: the universe is projected (sṛṣṭi/sarga) and then withdrawn (saṃhāra/pralaya) by the same Supreme Reality, Vishnu.
Vishnu is portrayed as the ultimate source and controller of both manifestation and reabsorption, aligning with Vaishnava theology where the Supreme Lord is the ground of all existence and order.
