Sage Parāśara (to Maitreya)
It marks the formal establishment of cosmic lineages—Brahmā assigns progenitor-status so each class of beings (Devas, Dānavas, Gandharvas, Nāgas) continues through an ordered genealogy rather than random emergence.
Parāśara presents creation as structured: Brahmā’s role includes assigning progenitors and familial relations, turning metaphysical emanation into a traceable lineage system that supports later dynastic and manvantara narratives.
Even when Brahmā is described as organizing progeny, the Vishnu Purana frames such cosmic governance within Vishnu’s supreme sovereignty—creation and lineage function as expressions of the higher sustaining reality identified with Vishnu.
