buddhirhi dvividhā dehe deyā grāhyā viśuddhidā | saṃsāraviṣayā tyājyā parabrahmaṇi sā śubhā
Skanda (deduced from Nāgarakhaṇḍa–Māhātmya didactic narration style)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim at a sacred ford holding a lotus (pure buddhi) in one hand and letting go of a chain of worldly objects with the other; above, a luminous formless Brahman symbolized by a radiant void or jyoti.
Choose discernment that leads to purity: abandon worldly fixation and cultivate intellect anchored in the Supreme.
No tīrtha is named; the verse offers philosophical guidance consistent with tīrtha-māhātmya’s goal of inner purification.
No external ritual; it prescribes inner discrimination (viveka) and reorientation of buddhi toward Parabrahman.
