Vali’s Funeral Rites and the Consolation of the Bereaved
तादृशं वालिनः क्षिप्रं प्राकुर्वन्नौर्ध्वदैहिकम्।अङ्गदं परिगृह्याऽशु तारप्रभृतयस्तदा4.25.32।।क्रोशन्तः प्रययुस्सर्वे वानरा हतबान्धवाः।
tādṛśaṁ vālinaḥ kṣipraṁ prākurvann aurdhvadehikam |
aṅgadaṁ parigṛhyāśu tārāprabhṛtayaḥ tadā || 4.25.32 ||
krośantaḥ prayayus sarve vānarā hatabāndhavāḥ |
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਔਰਧ੍ਵਦੇਹਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਯਥੋਚਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਆਰੰਭ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਫਿਰ ਤਾਰਾ ਆਦਿ ਨੇ ਅੰਗਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਬੰਧੂ-ਵਿਹੂਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਾਨਰ ਉੱਚੀ ਰੋਹ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਲਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ।
