Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: village
Sandhi Resolution Notes: धीमान्ददर्श = धीमान् + ददर्श; भ्रातृविरहक्लिन्नम् (समास)
Bharata is described as distressed (klinna) because of separation from his brother (bhrātṛ-viraha), traditionally understood as Rāma.
It portrays Nandigrāma as well-disciplined and properly governed (susaṃyata), under the guidance of experienced senior ministers (mantrivṛddhaiḥ).
The verse highlights steadfast familial loyalty and dharmic responsibility: Bharata’s sorrow underscores the depth of righteous attachment and the moral weight of separation from a virtuous elder brother.
