Dharma-śaṅkā-nivāraṇa: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Response on Karma-Phala and Trust in Dharma

यो हि दिष्टमुपासीनो निर्विचिष्ट:सुखं शयेत्‌ । अवसीदेत्‌ स दुर्बुद्धिरामो घट इवोदके,जो खोटी बुद्धिवाला मनुष्य प्रारब्ध (भाग्य)-का भरोसा रखकर उद्योगसे मुँह मोड़ लेता और सुखसे सोता रहता है, उसका जलमें रखे हुए कच्चे घड़ेकी भाँति विनाश हो जाता है

yo hi diṣṭam upāsīno nirviciṣṭaḥ sukhaṃ śayet | avasīdet sa durbuddhir āmo ghaṭa ivodake ||

ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੇਵਲ ਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ, ਬਿਨਾ ਯਤਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੇ ਕੱਚੇ ਘੜੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਡੁੱਬ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
