अथवा ते भयं जात॑ दृष्टवार्जुनपराक्रमम्‌ । सत्यं ते प्रतिजानामि वधिष्यामि रणे<र्जुनम्‌,“अथवा यदि तुम्हें अर्जुनका पराक्रम देखकर भय हो गया हो तो मैं तुमसे सच्ची प्रतिज्ञा करके कहता हूँ कि मैं युद्धमें अर्जुनको अवश्य मार डालूँगा

athavā te bhayaṃ jātaṃ dṛṣṭvārjuna-parākramam | satyaṃ te pratijānāmi vadhiṣyāmi raṇe 'rjunam ||

“ਜਾਂ ਜੇ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦਾ ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਗਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ—ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ।”
