Draupadī and Satyabhāmā on ethical household conduct
यः प्रशान्तेषु भूतेषु मन्युर्भवति दारुण: । अग्नि: स मन्युमान्नाम द्वितीयो भानुत: सुत:,जो शान्त प्राणियोंमें भयंकर “क्रोध” बनकर प्रकट होते हैं, वे 'मन्युमान्” नामक अग्नि भानुके द्वितीय पुत्र हैं
yaḥ praśānteṣu bhūteṣu manyur bhavati dāruṇaḥ | agniḥ sa manyumān nāma dvitīyo bhānutaḥ sutaḥ ||
ਜੋ ਅਗਨੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ‘ਮਨ੍ਯੁਮਾਨ’ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਭਾਨੁ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Anger (manyu) is portrayed as a fierce, fire-like power that can manifest even in otherwise peaceful beings; recognizing its destructive nature is an ethical prompt toward restraint and inner discipline.
Markandeya identifies a specific cosmic personification: the dreadful wrath that appears among calm creatures is said to be a form of Agni named Manyumān, described as the second son of Bhānu.
