भद्रवटगमनम् — स्कन्देन महिषदानवनिग्रहः
Bhadravaṭa Procession and Skanda’s Neutralization of Mahiṣa
दशवर्षसहस््राणि तपस्तप्त्वा महातपा: । जनयत् पावकं घोरं पितृणां स प्रजा: सृजन्
daśavarṣasahasrāṇi tapastaptvā mahātapāḥ | janayat pāvakaṃ ghoraṃ pitṝṇāṃ sa prajāḥ sṛjan |
ਮਾਰਕੰਡੇਯ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਹ ਮਹਾਤਪਸਵੀ ਪਾਂਚਜਨ੍ਯ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਘੋਰ ਤਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਸ਼-ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅੱਗ ਪ੍ਰਜਵਲਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤ ਹੋਇਆ।
