Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction
युधिछिर उवाच नार्थोपभोगलिप्सार्थमियमर्थेप्सुता मम । भरणार्थ तु विप्राणां ब्रह्मन् काडक्षे न लोभत:,युधिष्ठिरने कहा--ब्रह्मन! मैं जो धन चाहता हूँ वह इसलिये नहीं कि मुझे धनसम्बधी भोग भोगनेकी इच्छा है। मैं तो ब्राह्मणोंक भरण-पोषणके लिये ही धनकी इच्छा रखता हूँ, लोभवश नहीं
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | nārthopabhoga-lipsārtham iyam arthepsutā mama | bharaṇārthaṃ tu viprāṇāṃ brahman kāṅkṣe na lobhataḥ |
ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ! ਧਨ-ਭੋਗ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਧਨ-ਇੱਛਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਣ-ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਸਾਧਨ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ; ਲੋਭ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
