अध्याय १९० — वामदेव-वाम्य-वृत्तान्तः
The Vāmadeva Horses Episode and the Ethics of Promise
मत्तः प्रादुर्भवन्त्येते मामेव प्रविशन्ति च | ये शूद्र मेरे दोनों चरण हैं। मेरी शक्तिसे क्रमश: इनका प्रादुर्भाव हुआ है। ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद, सामवेद और अथर्ववेद--ये मुझसे ही प्रकट होते और मुझमें ही लीन हो जाते हैं
mattaḥ prādurbhavanti ete mām eva praviśanti ca |
ਦੇਵਤਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਇਹ ਸਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰਿਗਵੇਦ, ਯਜੁਰਵੇਦ, ਸਾਮਵੇਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਥਰਵਵੇਦ—ਇਹ ਸਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਟ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸਮਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
