कौरव: सोमवंशीय: कुन्त्या गर्भेण धारित: । पाण्डवो वायुतनयो भीमसेन इति श्रुत:,मेरा परिचय इस प्रकार है--मैं चन्द्रवंशी क्षत्रिय हूँ। मेरा जन्म कुरुकुलमें हुआ है। माता कुन्तीने मुझे गर्भमें धारण किया था। मैं वायुपुत्र पाण्डव हूँ। मेरा नाम भीमसेन है

Transliteration

kauravaḥ somavaṁśīyaḥ kuntyā garbheṇa dhāritaḥ | pāṇḍavo vāyutanayo bhīmasena iti śrutaḥ ||

Translation

ਭੀਮਸੇਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਮੈਂ ਸੋਮਵੰਸ਼ੀ ਕੌਰਵ ਹਾਂ; ਕੁੰਤੀ ਦੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਨਮਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਪਾਂਡਵ ਵੀ ਹਾਂ—ਵਾਯੂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ—ਅਤੇ ਭੀਮਸੇਨ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹਾਂ।
