अध्याय ८ — शल्यस्य सत्कारः, वरदानं, पाण्डवसमागमश्च (Śalya’s Reception, the Boon, and Meeting the Pāṇḍavas)
शिल्पिभिविविधैश्वैव क्रीडास्तत्र प्रयोजिता: । तत्र वस्त्राणि माल्यानि भक्ष्यं पेयं च सत्कृतम्
śilpibhir vividhaiś caiva krīḍās tatra prayojitāḥ | tatra vastrāṇi mālyāni bhakṣyaṁ peyaṁ ca satkṛtam ||
ਉੱਥੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਨਿਪੁਣ ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਜਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉੱਥੇ ਨਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ, ਮਾਲਾਵਾਂ, ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ-ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਵੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
