Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 58 — Saṃjaya’s Audience and Kṛṣṇa’s Deterrent Counsel (संजय-प्रवेशः कृष्णवाक्यं च)
आवयोर्वचनात् सूत ज्येष्ठानप्यभिवादयन् । यवीयसश्व कुशल पश्चात् पृष्टवैवमुत्तरम्
āvayor vacanāt sūta jyeṣṭhān apy abhivādayan | yavīyasaś ca kuśalaṁ paścāt pṛṣṭvaivam uttaram ||
ਵਾਯੁਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਸੂਤ, ਸਾਡੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਮਰ ਤੇ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਜੇਠਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰੀਂ; ਫਿਰ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੈਰ-ਖ਼ਬਰ ਪੁੱਛੀਂ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਜਵਾਬ ਸੁਣਾ ਦੇਵੀਂ।
