महाभये सम्प्रवृत्ते रथस्थं विवर्तमानं समरे कृतास्त्रम् । सर्वा दिश: सम्पतन्तं समीक्ष्य तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
sañjaya uvāca | mahābhaye sampravṛtte rathasthaṃ vivartamānaṃ samare kṛtāstram | sarvā diśaḥ sampatantaṃ samīkṣya tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro ’nvātapsyāt ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜਦੋਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਂ ਭੈ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ, ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਵਿਦਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਪੁਣ ਸਹਦੇਵ ਸਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੁੰਮਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਰ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਸ਼ਤਰੂਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਵੇਗਾ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਿਤਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ-ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਮਾਰਗ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਸੜਦੇ ਪਛਤਾਵੇ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
