महाभये वीतभय: कृतास्त्र: समागमे शत्रुबलावमर्दी । सकृद् रथेनाप्रतिमान् रथौघान् पदातिसंघान् गदयाभिनिध्नन्
sañjaya uvāca |
mahābhaye vītabhayaḥ kṛtāstraḥ samāgame śatrubalāvamardī |
sakṛd rathenāpratimān rathaughān padātisaṅghān gadayābhinighnan ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਵੱਡੇ ਭੈ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਨਿਡਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਨੂੰ ਰੌਂਦ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ—ਉਹੀ ਭੀਮਸੇਨ ਇਕੋ ਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਗਦਾ ਦੇ ਘਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਰਥ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਣੇ ਪੈਦਲ ਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਚਲਦਾ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ; ਤਦੋਂ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਿਤਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਇਹ ਯੁੱਧ ਛੇੜਨ ਦਾ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
