Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 34 — Vidura’s Counsel on Deliberation, Speech-Discipline, and Dharmic Kingship
virocana uvāca tathā bhadre kariṣyāmi yathā tvaṃ bhīru bhāṣase | sudhanvānaṃ ca māṃ caiva prātar draṣṭāsi saṅgatau ||
The verse highlights commitment to one’s word: Virocana explicitly agrees to act exactly as requested, emphasizing resolve and accountability in speech and action.
Virocana responds to a woman he addresses as “bhadre/bhīru,” assuring her that he will follow her counsel and that by morning she will witness him and Sudhanvan together, indicating an arranged meeting or confrontation has been accepted.
