Sanjaya’s Counsel Toward Conciliation
ते वै धन्या यै: कृतं ज्ञातिकार्य ते वै पुत्रा: सुह्ददो बान्धवाश्व । उपक्रुष्टं जीवितं संत्यजेयु- रत: कुरूणां नियतो वैभव: स्यात्
te vai dhanyā yaiḥ kṛtaṃ jñātikāryaṃ te vai putrāḥ suhṛdo bāndhavāś ca | upakruṣṭaṃ jīvitaṃ saṃtyajeyur ataḥ kurūṇāṃ niyato vaibhavaḥ syāt ||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਕਰਤੱਬ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹੀ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਧੰਨ ਹਨ; ਉਹੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸੁਹਿਰਦ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਕਹਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹਨ। ਕੌਰਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਿੰਦਤ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਣ; ਤਦ ਕੁਰੂ ਵੰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਥਾਨ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
