Drupada’s Alarm and Inquiry Regarding Śikhaṇḍinī (द्रुपदस्य भय-विमर्शः)
सभार्यस्तच्च सस्मार महेश्व॒रवचस्तदा । ततः सम्प्रेषयामास दशार्णाधिपतेरनप:
sabhāryas tac ca sasmāra maheśvaravacas tadā | tataḥ sampreṣayāmāsa daśārṇādhipater anapaḥ ||
ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰ (ਸ਼ਿਵ) ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ। ਫਿਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੇਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਸ਼ਾਰ্ণ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਪਤੀ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਭੇਜਿਆ।
भीष्म उवाच
Right action in crisis is strengthened by remembering authoritative guidance—especially divine or ethically weighty counsel—and then acting promptly and appropriately through proper channels (such as sending an envoy).
The subject, accompanied by his wife, recalls Śiva’s earlier words and, motivated by that recollection, sends a messenger to the king of Daśārṇa, initiating communication or a request connected to the unfolding political situation.
