भीष्मस्वप्न-स्मृत्युपाख्यानम् | Bhīṣma’s Dream-Linked Recollection of the Paraśurāma Combat
नदी भविष्यसि शुभे कुटिला वार्षिकोदका । दुस्तीर्था न तु विज्ञेया वार्षिकी नाष्टमासिकी
nadī bhaviṣyasi śubhe kuṭilā vārṣikodakā | dustīrthā na tu vijñeyā vārṣikī nāṣṭamāsikī ||
ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— “ਹੇ ਸ਼ੁਭੇ! ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਦੀ ਬਣੇਂਗੀ—ਵੰਕੜੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ, ਕੇਵਲ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀ। ਤੇਰਾ ਤੀਰਥ-ਘਾਟ ਦੁਸ਼ਕਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ; ਤੂੰ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ, ਸਦਾ ਵਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਵੇਂਗੀ—ਤੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਮੌਸਮੀ ਨਦੀ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੀ, ਅੱਠ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ।”
