Nahūṣa’s Fall Explained: Agastya’s Account to Indra (Śalya-narrated)
तेनाभूद्धततेजाश्न नि:श्रीकश्न महीपति: । ततस्तं तमसा55विग्नमवोचं भृूशपीडितम्,इससे उसका सारा तेज नष्ट हो गया। वह राजा श्रीहीन हो गया। तब तमोगुणमें डूबकर अत्यन्त पीड़ित हुए नहुषसे मैंने इस प्रकार कहा--
tenābhūd dhata-tejāś ca niḥśrīkaś ca mahīpatiḥ | tatas taṃ tamasāviṣṭam avochaṃ bhṛśa-pīḍitam ||
ਉਸ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਹੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਫਿਰ ਤਮਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ, ਬਹੁਤ ਪੀੜਤ ਨਹੁਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ—
