Kṛṣṇa’s Conciliatory Address to Karṇa
अलं युद्धेन तैवीरि: शाम्य त्वं कुरुवृद्धये । मा गम: ससुतामात्य: सबलश्न यमक्षयम्
alaṁ yuddhena tair vīraiḥ śāmya tvaṁ kuru-vṛddhaye | mā gamaḥ sa-sutāmātyaḥ sa-balaś ca yamākṣayam, rājan ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋਇਆ; ਹੁਣ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਰੂ ਵੰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵਧੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਸੰਧਿ ਕਰ ਲੈ। ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਇਸ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ; ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ, ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਯਮਲੋਕ ਦੇ ਅਖੰਡ ਰਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਕੂਚ ਨਾ ਕਰ।
