अनुत्थानभये चोभे निरीहो नाश्षुते महत् । संतोष, दया, उद्योगशून्यता और भय--ये सम्पत्तिका नाश करनेवाले हैं। निश्चेष्ट मनुष्य कभी कोई महत्त्वपूर्ण पद नहीं पा सकता

ਵਾਯੁ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਜੋ ਨਿਸ਼ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਵੱਲ ਉੱਠਣ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਸੰਤੋਖ ਜੇ ਸੁਸਤ-ਤਸੱਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇ, ਅਣਉਚਿਤ ਦਇਆ, ਉਦਯੋਗ-ਹੀਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ—ਇਹ ਸਭ ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਿਨਾ ਜਤਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪਦ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ।
