Adhyāya 128 — Proposal to Restrain Keśava; Sātyaki’s Warning and Vidura–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Counsel
न लोभादर्थसम्पत्तिर्नराणामिह दृश्यते । तदलं तात लोभेन प्रशाम्य भरतर्षभ
na lobhād arthasampattir narāṇām iha dṛśyate | tad alaṃ tāta lobhena praśāmya bharatarṣabha ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ—ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਹੇ ਭਰਤ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ, ਲਾਲਚ ਬਸ; ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਕਰ। ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਧਿ ਕਰ ਲੈ।
