Udyoga Parva — Gandhārī’s Counsel to Duryodhana
विषेण सर्पबन्धैशक्ष॒ यतिता: पाण्डवास्त्वया । सर्वोपायैर्विनाशाय न समृद्ध च तत् तव
vaiśampāyana uvāca | viṣeṇa sarpabandhaiś ca yatitāḥ pāṇḍavās tvayā | sarvopāyair vināśāya na samṛddhaṃ ca tat tava ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕੇ, ਸੱਪਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੁਕਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਡੰਸਵਾ ਕੇ, ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ—ਹਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ; ਪਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਜਤਨ ਵੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
