वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुक्त्वा तत: कृष्णम भ्यभाषत कौरव: । स्वर्ग्य लोक्यं च मामात्थ धर्म्य न्याय्यं च केशव
vaiśampāyana uvāca | evam uktvā tataḥ kṛṣṇam abhyabhāṣata kauravaḥ | svargyaṃ lokyaṃ ca mām āttha dharmyaṃ nyāyyaṃ ca keśava ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਜਨਮੇਜਯ, ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਕੌਰਵ ਧ੍ਰਿਤਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ—‘ਕੇਸ਼ਵ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਲੋਕ—ਦੋਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਧਰਮ-ਸੰਮਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ-ਸੰਗਤ ਹੈ।’
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Dhṛtarāṣṭra acknowledges that sound counsel should be evaluated by two standards: its benefit in this life (lokya) and its merit for the next (svargya), and that true guidance aligns with both dharma (righteous order) and nyāya (justice/reasoned propriety).
After a prior exchange (introduced by “having spoken thus”), Dhṛtarāṣṭra addresses Kṛṣṇa directly, affirming that Kṛṣṇa’s advice is wholesome, righteous, and just—setting a moral frame for the deliberations that precede the Kurukṣetra war.
