अधर्मश्चानुबन्धो5त्र घोर: प्राणहरो महान् । अनिष्ट क्षानिमित्तक्ष न च शक्यश्ष भारत
adharmaścānubandho ’tra ghoraḥ prāṇaharo mahān | aniṣṭakṣānimittaś ca na ca śakyaḥ, bhārata ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤ! ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਅਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਅਨਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ; ਅਤੇ, ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ।
