एवं संचिन्तयन्नेव शक्रो विष्णुमनुस्मरन् । अथ फेनं तदापश्यत् समुद्रे पर्वतोपमम्,इस प्रकार सोचते हुए ही इन्द्र भगवान् विष्णुका बार-बार स्मरण करने लगे। इसी समय उनकी दृष्टि समुद्रमें उठते हुए पर्वताकार फेनपर पड़ी
evaṃ saṃcintayann eva śakro viṣṇum anusmaran | atha phenaṃ tadāpaśyat samudre parvatopamam ||
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਰ (ਇੰਦਰ) ਵਾਰੰਵਾਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ। ਓਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਵਰਗੇ ਝੱਗ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਈ।
