Rules for Dharmic Victory in Kṣatriya Engagement
आत्मानमात्मना हन्ति पापो निकृतिजीवन: । सज्जनोंका धर्म सदा सत्पुरुषोंमें ही रहा है। अतः उसका आश्रय लेकर उसे नष्ट न करे। धर्मयुद्धमें तत्पर हुआ जो क्षत्रिय अधर्मसे विजय पाता है

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਜੋ ਪਾਪੀ ਛਲ-ਕਪਟ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ-ਰੋਟੀ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਧਰਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ। ਧਰਮਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਕਸ਼ਤਰੀ ਅਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ—ਧੋਖੇ ਤੇ ਕਪਟ ਨਾਲ—ਜਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਾਪੀ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਤਨ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
