Vāmadeva’s Rājadharma: Norm-Setting, Counsel, and the Prevention of Rāṣṭra-Vināśa (वामदेव-प्रोक्तं राजधर्मम्)
एवं राजोपनिषदं ययाति: स्माह नाहुष: । मनुष्यविषये युक्तो हन्ति शत्रूननुत्तमान्
evaṁ rājopaniṣadaṁ yayātiḥ smāha nāhuṣaḥ | manuṣyaviṣaye yukto hanti śatrūn anuttamān |
ਵਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੂਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਯਯਾਤੀ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੇ ਹਿਤ ਲਈ ਇਹ ‘ਰਾਜੋਪਨਿਸ਼ਦ’—ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਸਲਾਹ—ਕਹੀ। ਜੋ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਡੋਲ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
