राज्ञो वृत्त-गुण-संग्रहः (Conduct and the Thirty-Six Virtues of a King) / The King’s Code of Conduct
एवं चरस्व राज्यस्थो यदि श्रेय इहेच्छसि । अतोडन्यथा नरपतिर्भयमृत्छत्यनुत्तमम्
evaṁ carasva rājyastho yadi śreya ihecchasi | ato ’nyathā narapatir bhayam ṛcchaty anuttamam, yudhiṣṭhira ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਇਸੇ ਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਚਰਨ ਕਰ; ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਉਲਟ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਤੁੱਲ ਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਵਿਪਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
