ते सर्वे समतिक्रम्य विप्रमभ्यर्च्य चासकृत् । ऊचुर्वाक्यमसंदिग्धमातिथेयस्य बान्धवा:
te sarve samatikramya vipram abhyarcya cāsakṛt | ūcur vākyam asaṃdigdham ātitheyasya bāndhavāḥ ||
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਕੇ, ਸ਼ੱਕ ਤੇ ਕਪਟ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲੇ—
भीष्म उवाच
