यज्वा दानपति: क्षान्तो वृत्ते च परमे स्थित: । सत्यवागनसूयुश्च शीलवाजन्नियतेन्द्रिय:
yajvā dānapatiḥ kṣānto vṛtte ca parame sthitaḥ | satyavāg anasūyuś ca śīlavān niyatendriyaḥ ||
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਉਹ ਵਿਧੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਯੱਗ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਦਾਨ ਦਾ ਅਗੇਵਾਨ ਪਾਤਰ, ਖ਼ਿਮਾਸ਼ੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚਤਮ ਸਦਾਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੋਸ਼-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇ ਈਰਖਾ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ੀਲਵਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਯਮ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
