Adhyāya 33 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Post-Conflict Remorse and Inquiry on Āśrama Discipline (शोक-विमर्शः, आश्रम-जिज्ञासा)

वत्सलत्वाद द्विजश्रेष्ठ तत्र मे नास्ति संशय: । व्यक्त सौक्ष्म्याच्च धर्मस्य प्राप्स्याम: स्त्रीवधं वयम्‌

vatsalatvād dvijaśreṣṭha tatra me nāsti saṁśayaḥ | vyakta-saukṣmyāc ca dharmasya prāpsyāmaḥ strī-vadhaṁ vayam ||

ਹੇ ਦ੍ਵਿਜਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ! ਆਪਣੇ ਸਗੇ-ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਾਤਸਲ੍ਯ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ—ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਨਹੀਂ। ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਚਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਕਸ਼ਮ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ-ਵਧ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਭਾਗੀ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ।
