भीष्म उवाच एवमुकत्वा तु सा देवी तदा पशुपतिं पतिम् । तृष्णी भूताभवद् राजन् दहाुमानेन चेतसा
bhīṣma uvāca evam uktvā tu sā devī tadā paśupatiṁ patim | tṛṣṇī-bhūtābhavad rājan dahyamānena cetasā ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਪਸ਼ੁਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇਵੀ (ਪਾਰਵਤੀ) ਚੁੱਪ ਹੋ ਗਈ; ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਸੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
