Yudhiṣṭhira’s Remorse and Vyāsa’s Teaching on Impermanence (Śoka-nivāraṇa)
मैवमित्यब्रवीद् व्यासो निगृहाय मुनिसत्तम: । वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं-जनमेजय! अपने बन्धु-जनोंके शोकसे विह्बल होकर युधिष्ठिरको ऐसी बातें करते देख मुनिवर व्यासजीने उन्हें रोककर कहा--“नहीं, ऐसा नहीं हो सकता”
māivam ity abravīd vyāso nigṛhāya munisattamaḥ |
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ— ਜਨਮੇਜਯ! ਆਪਣੇ ਸਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਹਵਲ ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਮੁਨਿਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਵਿਆਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ—“ਨਹੀਂ; ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।”
