परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
एवमेव ब्रह्माचारी शुश्रूषुर्घोरनिश्वय: । एवं युक्तो ब्राह्मण: स्यादन्यो ब्राह्मणको भवेत्
evam eva brahmacārī śuśrūṣur ghoraniścayaḥ | evaṁ yukto brāhmaṇaḥ syād anyo brāhmaṇako bhavet ||
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਤਪਰ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਸ਼ਠਾਵਾਨ, ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਯ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗ-ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨਾਲ ਯੁਕਤ ਹੈ—ਉਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਭਿੰਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੀਚ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਾ ਜਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
