तृष्णाक्षय-उपदेशः
Instruction on the Cessation of Craving
गृहस्थ एव यजते गृहस्थस्तप्यते तप: । गार्हस्थ्यमस्य धर्मस्य मूलं य्किंचिदेजते
gṛhastha eva yajate gṛhasthas tapyate tapaḥ | gārhasthyam asya dharmasya mūlaṃ yat kiñcid ejate ||
ਯਜ्ञ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਥ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਪ ਵੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਥ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਭਲਾ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਗਾਰ੍ਹਸਥ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
