राजधर्मः—राष्ट्ररक्षणं, दण्डनीतिः, हयग्रीवोपाख्यानम्

Royal Duty: Protection, Penal Policy, and the Hayagrīva Exemplum

युधिषछ्िर उवाच न पार्थिवमिदं राज्यं न भोगाश्च पृथग्विधा: । प्रीणयन्ति मनो मे5द्य शोको मां रुन्धयत्ययम्‌

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca

na pārthivam idaṁ rājyaṁ na bhogāś ca pṛthagvidhāḥ |

prīṇayanti mano me 'dya śoko māṁ rundhayaty ayam ||

ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਹੇ ਮੁਨੀ! ਨਾ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ—ਅੱਜ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਸ਼ੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੌਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਘੇਰੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ।
