ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana

कस्येह न व्यथेद् बुद्धिर्मुत्योरपि जिघांसत: । साते न व्यथते बुद्धिरचला तत्त्वदर्शिनी
kasyeha na vyathed buddhir mṛtyor api jighāṃsataḥ | sā te na vyathate buddhir acalā tattvadarśinī ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ: “ਇੱਥੇ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਵਿਥਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ—ਜਦੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਵੀ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਇਰਾਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਵੇ? ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੁੱਧਿ ਵਿਥਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ; ਉਹ ਤੱਤਵ-ਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਅਚਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।”
