कालनिर्णयः, युगधर्मवर्णनम्, सृष्टिक्रमश्च

Time-Reckoning, Yuga-Dharma, and the Sequence of Creation

मैवं शक्र पुनः कार्षी: शान्तो भवितुम्हसि । त्वामप्येवंविध॑ ज्ञात्वा क्षिप्रमन्‍्यं गमिष्यति

maivaṁ śakra punaḥ kārṣīḥ śānto bhavitum arhasi | tvām apy evaṁvidhaṁ jñātvā kṣipram anyaṁ gamiṣyati, śakra ||

ਹੇ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਰ! ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਐਸਾ ਵਰਤਾਵ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਂ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਐਸੇ ਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ (ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ) ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਲ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

Prosperity is unstable and does not remain with one who is agitated, arrogant, or improperly behaved; therefore a ruler (even Indra) should cultivate calmness and self-restraint to be fit for Śrī (fortune).
